Harsh Mehta's Upcoming Tournament

Harsh Mehta, recognized as one of India's leading Pickleball athletes, is gearing up for his first official appearance on the APP Asia Tour at the APP Asia Penang Open, taking place from July 22 to July 26 in Penang, Malaysia. He will team up with Vietnam's Quang Duong in the men's doubles category, following their recent victory at the D-Joy Pickleball Tour Leg 2 in Vietnam. Their impressive performance positions them as a duo to keep an eye on during the tournament.

The Penang Open serves as the second event in the inaugural APP Asia Tour, boasting a total prize pool of USD 35,000, which is evenly distributed between professional and senior pro/amateur divisions. The competition will include professional singles, doubles, and mixed doubles events, along with various amateur categories based on DUPR ratings.

Mehta's participation comes shortly after he was officially recognized as an APP Pro by the tour earlier this week. He has been highlighted as one of the ten players to watch at the Penang Open, alongside Quang Duong, Jack Munro, Megan Fudge, Roos van Reek, Vivian Glozman, Shelby Bates, Pei Chuan Kao, Max Manthou, and Aidan Schenk. The men's doubles event is anticipated to be one of the most competitive segments of the week.

Mehta and Duong will face off against established international teams, including the defending champion Jack Munro, who is returning with a new partner, Aidan Schenk. Another noteworthy pairing is Santhosh Narayanan and Max Manthou, which adds further excitement to the competition.

The APP Asia Tour, which commenced in June, will include stops in Malaysia, China, Thailand, Chinese Taipei, India, and Vietnam throughout the 2026 season, aiming to promote professional pickleball across the region. The Penang Open represents a significant milestone in this endeavor, offering Mehta a chance to compete against some of the top players on the tour.
