Harmanpreet Kaur's Rise in ICC Rankings
Dubai: On Tuesday, Indian women's cricket team captain Harmanpreet Kaur ascended two positions to secure the 13th rank in the latest ICC Women's T20I batting rankings. This advancement follows her impressive performance in the fifth and final match against Sri Lanka held in Thiruvananthapuram.
India clinched victory by 15 runs, completing a clean sweep in the five-match series that concluded on December 30.
Harmanpreet's remarkable innings of 68 runs off 43 balls earned her the Player of the Match title and brought her closer to the top 10.
Meanwhile, Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma maintained their positions at third and sixth, respectively, while Australia's Beth Mooney continued to lead the rankings.
Jemimah Rodrigues, however, fell out of the top 10 and is now ranked 12th.
In the bowling rankings, Deepti Sharma lost her top position after her performance of one wicket for 28 runs in the fifth T20I, allowing Australia's Annabel Sutherland to reclaim the No. 1 spot.
Deepti now trails Sutherland by just one rating point, with Sutherland holding 736 points. The Australian all-rounder first achieved this ranking in August 2025.
Additionally, Indian left-arm spinner Shree Charani made significant progress, moving up five spots to 47th.
For Sri Lanka, Kavisha Dilhari improved her ranking by one position to 32nd, while Chamari Athapaththu climbed three spots to 48th.
