Hardik Pandya's Son Reacts Angrily After Father's Dismissal in T20 World Cup Semifinal

India's Thrilling Semifinal Victory

During the T20 World Cup 2026 semifinal held at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on March 5, Hardik Pandya's son, Agastya, displayed visible anger following his father's dismissal. Team India set a formidable target of 253 runs, bolstered by Sanju Samson's impressive 89 runs and significant contributions from Shivam Dube (43), Ishan Kishan (34), Hardik Pandya (27), and Tilak Varma (21).

Despite Jacob Bethell's remarkable century (105 runs) for England, which nearly turned the game, India's bowlers maintained their composure in the final overs. Jasprit Bumrah was particularly effective, allowing only 14 runs and taking a wicket in two spells, while Hardik Pandya led the bowling attack with figures of 2/38 in four overs.

Agastya Pandya's Viral Reaction

Hardik Pandya played a pivotal role in the middle order, stepping up after Suryakumar Yadav's dismissal at 190/4. He accelerated the innings during the death overs, contributing a quick 27 runs off just 12 balls, including three fours and two sixes, before being run out by Jos Buttler and Jacob Bethell.

As Hardik walked off the field, Agastya was seen expressing his frustration, shouting 'Papa, Papa' in a video that quickly gained traction on social media. His girlfriend, Mahieka Sharma, was seen comforting the young boy in the stands.

India Advances to the Final

Thanks to Hardik's crucial innings, India secured a thrilling seven-run victory over England, earning a spot in the T20 World Cup 2026 final against New Zealand. This marks India's fourth appearance in a T20 World Cup final, the most by any team in the tournament's history, having previously reached the finals in 2014, 2022, and 2024, winning the latter two.

As the defending champions, India is on the brink of achieving back-to-back titles, a feat no team has accomplished in T20 World Cup history. With two titles already under their belt, they aim to become the first team to win three T20 World Cups and secure consecutive championships on home soil. Notably, no team has ever won the T20 World Cup on home ground, and India has the opportunity to make history. So far, they have only lost once in the tournament, against South Africa in the Super 8 stage, and are looking to carry this momentum into the final.
