Fans at Holkar Stadium witnessed an extraordinary display of batting as the Gwalior Cheetahs and Chambal Ghariyals combined for over 500 runs in a thrilling match of the Aditya Birla Group Madhya Pradesh League (MPL) T20 Scindia Cup 2026. The Chambal Ghariyals achieved a remarkable chase of 258 runs, winning by three wickets.

Batting first, the Gwalior Cheetahs unleashed a fierce assault, scoring an impressive 257 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in their 20 overs after being invited to bat. Kartik Parihar and Parth Chaudhary opened the innings with a quick 27-run partnership before Parihar was dismissed for 6 runs off 7 balls. Chaudhary, however, continued to dominate, forming a 24-run partnership with Saumy Pandey, who scored 10 runs off 7 balls before being dismissed.

Chaudhary then found a strong ally in Kuldeep Gehi, and together they added a blistering 71 runs for the third wicket, putting pressure on the bowlers. Chaudhary's innings concluded at 73 runs off 38 balls, featuring six sixes and six fours. Gehi, supported by Captain Rajat Patidar, propelled the innings further, adding 75 runs for the fourth wicket. Gehi's explosive performance saw him score 88 runs off just 42 balls, including nine sixes and four fours, with a remarkable 34 runs coming in a single over. Patidar contributed significantly, scoring 46 runs off 16 balls, while Mangesh Yadav finished the innings with a quick 21 runs off 8 balls.

Ankush Singh's Record-Breaking Century Fuels the Chase

The excitement continued as Ankush Singh took charge during the Chambal Ghariyals' chase. Despite Captain Shubham Sharma being dismissed for a first-ball duck, Ankush launched an aggressive counterattack, scoring the fastest century in MPL history with 101 runs off just 33 balls. His innings included 11 sixes and six fours, keeping the Ghariyals in contention. However, his dismissal led to a quick collapse, with the team falling to 155 runs for 6 wickets in just 11.2 overs.

As the chase seemed to falter, Rohit Kumar Gupta and Aman Bhadoriya stepped up, providing crucial resistance. Bhadoriya was at 30 runs off 14 balls when the team needed 56 runs in the last five overs. The 16th over saw Saumy Pandey under pressure, conceding 21 runs, while the 17th over began with a boundary, raising concerns for the Gwalior Cheetahs. However, Ishan Afridi managed to dismiss Rohit Kumar Gupta for 22 runs off 15 balls, just as the Ghariyals were gaining momentum. By the end of the 17th over, Chambal required 25 runs from 18 balls, with Bhadoriya well-set after reaching his half-century.

Anubhav Agarwal then delivered a tight over, allowing only six runs, which increased the pressure on the batting side. The momentum shifted again in the penultimate over as Ishan Afridi was costly, leaving just 6 runs needed off the final over. The batters quickly wrapped up the match with three balls to spare.

Ankush Singh Reflects on the Victory

After the match, Ankush Singh shared his thoughts on the victory, stating, "It feels great to contribute to such a memorable win. We knew the target was huge, but the wicket was very good for batting, and we believed we could chase it down. There was never any thought of pressure. We simply focused on playing our natural game and taking the attack to the bowlers."
