This week's episode of WWE Raw featured an exciting main event where Gunther emerged victorious, claiming the World Heavyweight Championship. He is now aware of the expectations that come with the title but seems unfazed by the prospect of facing Goldberg.

During the June 9 broadcast from PHX Arena in Phoenix, Arizona, Gunther defeated Jey Uso (c) to secure the championship, using a Sleeper hold to submit Uso. This victory marked a rematch from Wrestlemania 41, solidifying Gunther's status as a dominant force in the ring.

Gunther's Thoughts on Goldberg

In a recap segment with Sam Roberts and Megan Morant, Gunther expressed that he was not surprised by the outcome of the match, contrary to the expectations of many fans who were rooting for Uso. He took a moment to criticize those who speculated about Seth Rollins cashing in his Money in the Bank contract or Goldberg making a surprise return.

“You mentioned that it caught everyone off guard, but I don’t see what’s surprising about it. It seemed like a rematch that was perceived as insignificant, yet people were speculating about Rollins and Goldberg,” he stated.

Gunther reminded everyone that during his previous reign as World Heavyweight Champion, top stars avoided him for a reason—his dominance in the locker room since joining WWE Raw. He made it clear that Goldberg does not intimidate him.

The two had a confrontation at the Bad Blood 2024 event, where Goldberg verbally challenged Gunther. However, before things escalated, Sami Zayn intervened. With Goldberg announcing his retirement match for this year, Gunther is seen as a likely opponent, and fans are eager for his return to WWE Raw.
