During the toss, Shubman Gill stated:

We will bowl first. It's challenging to restart, but our pacers have had a good rest. KG's return is a positive for us. We've performed well, but we need to win all three remaining matches. Each game requires a fresh start; our fielding has not been up to par, and we've been working hard to improve it. The pitch looks promising for high scores, and we have made one change with Rabada coming back.

Axar Patel also shared his thoughts:

We wanted to bowl first as well, but now we aim to set a competitive total. We're focusing on one game at a time and not getting ahead of ourselves regarding qualification. I respect his decision regarding Starc, but I prefer players to be fully fit. We are sticking with the same combination of three pacers and three spinners, with Vipraj Nigam replacing Madhav Tiwari and Mustafizur stepping in for Starc.
