Graeme Smith, Hashim Amla, and Daniel Vettori Join ICC Hall of Fame

Three Cricket Legends Inducted
London [UK] June 9: The ICC has announced the induction of South African cricket icons Graeme Smith and Hashim Amla, along with former New Zealand captain Daniel Vettori, into the prestigious ICC Hall of Fame.
Graeme Smith, who amassed over 17,000 runs in international cricket, is celebrated for his leadership of the Proteas. His remarkable career includes a record 53 Test victories as captain and a total of 17,236 runs at an average of 42.34, featuring 37 centuries and 90 half-centuries, with a highest score of 277.
Hashim Amla, recognized for his impressive tally of nearly 19,000 international runs, has also been honored with a place in the ICC Hall of Fame. Amla's career boasts 55 international centuries and six selections in the ICC Team of the Year, marking him as one of the greats across all formats. He has scored 18,672 runs in 349 matches, averaging 46.56 with a strike rate of 65.01.
Amla expressed his gratitude, stating, “Being inducted into the ICC Hall of Fame is a tremendous honor, especially alongside Graeme. This recognition feels surreal, and I am truly thankful.”
Daniel Vettori, the legendary left-arm spinner from New Zealand, has also received this prestigious recognition. With over 700 international wickets and nearly 7,000 runs, Vettori's career was marked by his adaptability and intelligence on the field. He is one of only three players to achieve the milestone of 4,000 runs and 300 wickets in Test cricket, finishing with 362 Test wickets, the highest for any New Zealander after Sir Richard Hadlee and Tim Southee.
