In an impressive display of skill, Dinakar, Nikhil, and Sanjay from the Gorilla Smash Club secured the championship title in the Open Team Event at the Venom by Gorilla Smash Club tournament, recognized as a PWR 100 event by the Indian Pickleball Association. The final match was a nail-biter, with the Gorilla Smash Club team overcoming their opponents, Gowtham, Kiran, Nirup, and Aditya from Unstoppables, in straight sets. The final score was a thrilling 2-0 (21-20, 21-20), showcasing the intensity of the competition.
Both games were fiercely contested, with neither team able to establish a comfortable lead. The match was characterized by extended rallies and critical pressure points. Dinakar, Nikhil, and Sanjay demonstrated remarkable composure during the crucial moments, ultimately edging out the Unstoppables to clinch the title. This victory highlighted a strong performance by the Gorilla Smash Club throughout the tournament, which featured a variety of competitive matches under the Indian Pickleball Association’s PWR 100 ranking system.
The Unstoppables, consisting of Gowtham, Kiran, Nirup, and Aditya, put up a valiant effort, finishing as runners-up after a final that was decided by just a single point in each game.
