New Delhi, September 9 - Alvaro Arbeloa, the head coach of Fulham, has highlighted the significance of ambition, an attacking style of play, and a resilient mindset as he aims to reverse the club's challenging beginning to the 2026-27 Premier League season.
Arbeloa's tenure has started on a rocky note, with Fulham suffering defeats in their first three matches of the Premier League. The team is set to face Liverpool on Saturday, seeking to secure their initial points of the season.
In an interview with JioStar, Arbeloa expressed his desire for Fulham to cultivate a distinct attacking identity, urging the players to exhibit bravery, personality, and aggression both with and without the ball, while maintaining a passionate and ambitious approach in every match.
“I envision a team with a strong identity. I want to witness a squad that plays boldly and with character. Our goal is to be highly offensive, courageous in possession, and assertive when we lose the ball, always ready to counterattack. It’s crucial that we display that passion and ambition in every game and give our all,” he stated.
Arbeloa also discussed the club's summer transfer activities, noting that the ambition to enhance the squad was evident after the departure of several key players from the previous season. He stressed the need for new signings to quickly integrate, build rapport with their teammates, and adapt to his tactical framework.
“To be ambitious, we must recruit players who can elevate the squad. After losing some valuable players last season, we needed to find suitable replacements. We demonstrated our ambition by acquiring quality players who align with our vision and playing style.
