France's Strategy Against Spain

In Dallas, Texas, Adrien Rabiot, the midfielder for France, emphasized that the team is not devising a specific strategy solely for Spain's Lamine Yamal. Instead, France aims to concentrate on the overall threat posed by the Spanish squad, which includes their possession, movement, creativity, and ability to exploit spaces.

France is set to face a formidable Spain team that recently secured a spot in the semifinals by defeating Belgium 2-1. Spain comes into this match with an impressive 36-match unbeaten streak and is eager to reach the FIFA World Cup 2026 final.

Rabiot stated, "We are not creating an anti-Lamine Yamal strategy. Our focus is on the entire Spanish team, not just one player. They have multiple threats: their attacking players, possession skills, and ability to find openings near the box. We must remain vigilant to all these aspects. Concentrating on just one individual would be a mistake."

The semifinal winner will advance to the championship match scheduled for July 19 (Local Time).

France has demonstrated a strong and controlled performance throughout the knockout stages, having topped Group I. They began the knockout phase with a decisive 3-0 win over Sweden in the Round of 32.

Following that, they narrowly defeated Paraguay 1-0 in the Round of 16 and showcased another disciplined effort by overcoming Morocco 2-0 in the quarter-finals, securing their place in the semifinals.

With six goals scored and none conceded in the knockout rounds, France has highlighted their defensive strength and composure under pressure.

Even in closely contested matches, their structure has remained intact, while captain Kylian Mbappe has consistently provided the necessary offensive edge when it counts.
