Spain Triumphs Over Croatia in UEFA Nations League; England Secures Victory Against Czechia

New Delhi, Sep 30: Lamine Yamal showcased his talent by scoring two goals as Spain achieved a convincing 4-1 victory over Croatia during Matchday 2 of the UEFA Nations League. Meanwhile, England also celebrated a 2-0 win against Czechia.
Yamal initiated the scoring just two minutes into the match, capitalizing on a clever flick from Fermín Lopez to beat goalkeeper Dominik Livakovic. Croatia equalized shortly after, with Dion Beljo, in only his third senior match, heading in his first international goal from an Ivan Perisic cross.
Spain quickly regained the lead, with Marc Pubill scoring from Yamal's excellent cross just two minutes later. Yamal then netted his second goal, finishing at the near post after receiving a through ball from Pedri. Nico Williams capped off the scoring in the 89th minute, maneuvering inside the box before firing home.
In a parallel match, England secured their first win since the FIFA World Cup, defeating ten-man Czechia 2-0. Anthony Gordon and Harry Kane were the scorers, with Gordon finding the net in his third consecutive appearance for the national team.
England took control of the match after Pavel Sulc received a red card for a foul on Elliot Anderson. Morgan Rogers nearly scored, hitting the post, while Matěj Kovář made a brilliant save to deny Kane.
The breakthrough came just a minute into the second half when Gordon headed in from a superb cross by Trent Alexander-Arnold. Kane later added the second goal, reacting quickly to score from a loose ball.
In other matches, Scotland faced a tough start under new coach Sebastian Pocognoli, suffering a 3-0 defeat to Switzerland. Ricardo Rodriguez scored from a free-kick following Jack Hendry's early red card, with Nico Elvedi and Zeki Amdouni adding goals in the second half.
Slovenia is currently second in Group B1 after a home win against North Macedonia, with Sandi Lovric and substitute Aljosa Matko scoring. Slovakia's Leo Sauer netted his first goal, but David Hancko secured a 2-1 victory against Kazakhstan. Albania and Iceland also celebrated 3-0 away wins against San Marino and Luxembourg, respectively.
