New York [US], June 28 (Media House): Mohamed Salah is currently dealing with a hamstring injury, and the Egyptian Football Association has not provided any updates regarding his fitness for the upcoming FIFA World Cup match against Australia.

During Egypt's recent 1-1 draw with Iran, Salah was taken off the field after expressing discomfort. Following this, medical examinations confirmed he has a hamstring strain, as stated by team doctor Mohamed Abou El Ela in a release from the EFA.

The 34-year-old forward has already started a treatment regimen, according to the statement. Salah contributed significantly during the group stage, scoring one goal and assisting two others, helping Egypt reach the knockout stage for the first time.

Additional Injury Concerns

In other news, regular left-back Ahmed Fatouh has sustained a hamstring tear and is unlikely to be fit for the round of 32 match against Australia, as reported by the Egyptian Football Association.
