New Delhi, July 21: Lionel Messi has shared his profound sorrow following Argentina's 1-0 defeat to Spain in the World Cup final, indicating that only time can help the team heal from this setback.
Ferran Torres scored in extra time in New Jersey, which dashed Argentina's hopes of winning consecutive titles and prevented Messi from adding a second World Cup trophy to his illustrious career.
At 39 years old, Messi is unlikely to participate in the next World Cup scheduled for 2030, although he has not made any official announcement regarding his retirement.
"The pain is immense, and this wound will take time to heal. But I also hold onto all the good things," Messi expressed on social media.
