Kolkata: The football-loving populace of Kolkata has shown immense excitement for the upcoming friendly match between India and Brazil, scheduled for next month. Tickets for this unique event, priced affordably, were sold out within just an hour of their release on Wednesday.

Set to take place on October 3, this match against the five-time world champions has already ignited a wave of enthusiasm in a city known for its fervent support of football and the Brazilian national team.

Ticket prices vary from Rs 999 to Rs 15,000. Although the exact number of tickets released on Wednesday remains unclear, the lower-priced options were quickly purchased as soon as they became available online for the match at Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan (VYBK).

The ticket pricing structure includes Rs 999, Rs 2,000, Rs 2,500, Rs 3,500, Rs 4,500, Rs 6,000, Rs 7,000, Rs 9,000, and Rs 15,000 for VIP seating.

With a capacity of approximately 67,000, VYBK is expected to have around 70% of its seats available for this highly anticipated match.

In addition to Brazil, the Indian team will also compete against Panama and two-time world champions Uruguay in a series of high-profile friendlies.

India's match against Panama is set for September 26 at Sree Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru, followed by the clash with Brazil and then Uruguay on October 6.

Tickets for the Brazil match are exclusively available online, with no physical sales at counters. The All India Football Federation (AIFF) has opted for digital tickets this time, similar to the approach taken during the FIFA World Cup.

India's coach, Khalid Jamil, has announced a 26-member squad for these FIFA friendlies, with the national training camp commencing in Bengaluru on September 14. The team will head to Kolkata on September 28, just two days after the match against Panama.

Jamil expressed that facing Brazil and Uruguay at home is a dream opportunity, emphasizing that these matches could be pivotal for Indian football and serve as crucial preparation for the upcoming Asian Cup qualifiers.

All three opponents have participated in the recent FIFA World Cup, presenting a significant challenge for India as Jamil evaluates his squad ahead of a busy international schedule.
