Harry Kane's Goal Drought Linked to Ghanaian Witch Doctor's Spell
England's Mixed Performance Against Ghana
England kicked off their tournament with an impressive 4-2 victory over Croatia, but their momentum faltered as they faced a determined Ghana team, resulting in a scoreless draw. The spotlight was on Harry Kane, who had shone in the previous match with two goals. Unfortunately, he was unable to find the net this time and squandered two clear opportunities late in the game. Interestingly, a Ghanaian witch doctor claimed responsibility for Kane's lack of scoring.
Before the match against Ghana, Nana Kwaku Bonsam, a self-styled spiritualist known as the "Devil of Wednesday," boldly asserted that he had cast a spell on Kane to prevent him from scoring. He stated, "I am working on Harry Kane. I have demonstrated my abilities before, so I know how to stop him. I do not wish him serious harm, just enough to hinder him against my nation," in a social media post.
This isn't the first time Bonsam has made such claims during the FIFA World Cup. In 2014, he gained international attention for asserting that he was responsible for a knee injury that affected Cristiano Ronaldo just before Portugal's match against Ghana.
Bonsam Promises to Lift the Curse
Harry Kane Claimed To Be Released Of The Curse
Following the England vs Ghana match, Bonsam returned to social media, appearing in a video where he performed ritualistic actions. He announced that he had completed his task and would lift the curse on Kane, allowing the England captain to score in the upcoming match against Panama. He even expressed a desire to visit the striker, saying, "I am the most powerful spiritualist in the whole world. Now, I am going to release Harry Kane so that in his next match, he can score a goal. Harry, I will come and visit you. Don't be offended. We are brothers, I love you so much," he added.
