Fenerbahce's Bold Move: Edin Dzeko Joins the Squad on a Free Transfer from Inter Milan

Edin Dzeko, the 37-year-old Bosnian striker who played in Inter Milan's Champions League final defeat by Manchester City earlier this month, has joined Fenerbahce on a free transfer. Dzeko has signed a two-year deal with the Istanbul-based club and his contract with Inter expires on June 30.

"Goodbye Inter, it's been two amazing years," Dzeko wrote on Instagram. "It's been an amazing journey. We're parting ways now, but thank you for everything."

The veteran striker has scored 31 goals in 101 games since joining Inter from AS Roma in 2021, winning two Coppa Italia and Italian Super Cup titles. He also won the Premier League and Bundesliga titles with Manchester City and Wolfsburg and scored over 300 goals in his club career. Dzeko is the top scorer for his country with 64 goals in 129 appearances. He will be hoping to lead Fenerbahce to silverware next season.

The move will keep him at the club until the summer of 2025 and will earn around €4 million net plus add-ons, along with a substantial sign-on bonus. Dzeko's tenure with Inter Milan ended in heartbreak, as the club lost to Manchester City in the Champions League final. However, the experienced striker will be hoping to continue his European career at Fenerbahce, who will take part in the Europa Conference League qualifiers.
