Miami, July 11: England's head coach Thomas Tuchel and team captain Harry Kane expressed their readiness for a challenging encounter against Norway in the World Cup quarterfinals.

During a press briefing in Miami, Tuchel indicated that his team is nearly at full strength for the upcoming match on Saturday.

"All players participated in training, which is exactly what we aim for," Tuchel stated, as reported by Xinhua. "We have a complete squad available, except for our suspended player, Jarell Quansah."

Quansah will be sidelined due to a red card received in England's 3-2 win over Mexico in the round of 16. Despite this setback, Tuchel assured that the team remains focused on their primary objective.

"We made significant progress in our last game, but it was merely one step. Our hunger for success continues, and our next goal is to secure victory in the quarterfinal," the coach added.

Tuchel also commended Kane's leadership qualities.

"He is our captain and leads by example," Tuchel remarked about Kane. "He is currently in exceptional form, which greatly benefits our team."

Recognizing the challenge posed by Norway, Kane noted that the team is returning to the World Cup after a 28-year hiatus, bringing with them a sense of freedom and confidence.

"They are well-coached, both offensively and defensively. Our task is to identify their weaknesses and adapt our strategy accordingly. We aim to impose our style of play tomorrow," Kane stated.

The match will feature a notable showdown between Kane and Norway's star striker Erling Haaland, who has netted seven goals in the tournament, one more than Kane. Both players are in pursuit of leaders Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe, who each have eight goals.

"Erling has been phenomenal. He is a physical powerhouse," Kane commented. "I view myself as a different type of player, although I score similar goals. I prefer to be more involved in the play, but I can also function as a traditional No. 9."

"I don't think it's productive to compare ourselves. I have great respect for him as a player and a professional. Naturally, I hope he has an off day tomorrow, but his overall performance has been impressive. He is a remarkable player," Kane added.

Kane was the top goalscorer in the 2018 World Cup, although England was eliminated in the semifinals.

"My primary objective is to win the World Cup rather than chase another golden boot, but I recognize that as a goalscorer, my contributions will help the team," he explained.

England has a strong track record in recent major tournaments, having reached the semifinals in the 2018 World Cup and the quarterfinals in 2022. They also finished as runners-up in the European Championships in both 2020 and 2024.

"Many players on this team have experience in high-stakes matches and significant moments," Kane noted. "I believe we are better equipped for this challenge."

The winner of Saturday's match will advance to the semifinals to face either Argentina or Switzerland.
