Atlanta, July 15: Argentina's head coach, Lionel Scaloni, has expressed confidence in his team's experience as they gear up to face England on Wednesday for a spot in the World Cup final.

This upcoming match marks Argentina's fifth semifinal appearance in their last five major tournaments, as they aim to secure consecutive World Cup titles following their victory in Qatar in 2022.

Scaloni remarked, "Having experience in these crucial matches doesn't guarantee an advantage, but it can help maintain composure." He noted that this being their fifth semifinal together brings a sense of calm to the players. "The team is relaxed and prepared for the challenge ahead," he added.

In preparation, Scaloni highlighted the need to address England's key players, particularly Harry Kane and Jude Bellingham, while staying true to Argentina's playing style.

"Our goal is to enhance our performance and effectively counter these players. We may implement changes or stick with our previous strategies. The players are still unaware of the final lineup," he explained. "Facing two of the world's top talents is a privilege for any coach. We have our strategies, and we will strive to neutralize their impact on the game."

He emphasized Argentina's intention to dominate possession and minimize England's counter-attacking opportunities.

"We aim to control the ball, and when we lose it, we want to mitigate the damage," Scaloni stated. "England boasts exceptional players known for their speed and ability to take on opponents one-on-one. We want to maintain possession while also looking for ways to catch them off guard."

Since taking charge in 2018, Scaloni has led Argentina to the Copa America semifinals in 2019, clinching the continental title in 2021 and 2024, along with their World Cup victory four years ago.

The 48-year-old coach acknowledged the significance of reaching the semifinals, stating, "I can't say I expected to be here. A month and a half ago, I would have been grateful just to reach this stage, no matter how we got here." He expressed excitement about their current position, focusing on the present rather than the journey that led them here.

Scaloni stressed the importance of recognizing their achievements while still striving for more. "We've accomplished a lot and have grown accustomed to success. However, I want to emphasize that we are grateful for what we've achieved, but we will give everything on the field tomorrow to move forward."
