FIT INDIA Cyclothon: A Step Towards a Healthier Nation
Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], June 17: In alignment with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision for a healthier and more active populace through the Fit India Movement, Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, Mansukh Mandaviya, inaugurated the FIT INDIA Cyclothon titled "Cycling by the Sea" at the Worli Coastal Cycle Track in Mumbai.
This event attracted fitness lovers, cyclists, and citizens from diverse backgrounds, showcasing a collective commitment to fitness and healthy living, as highlighted in a press release.

Mandaviya officially launched the cyclothon and participated in the ride, emphasizing the Government's dedication to transforming fitness into a nationwide movement and promoting the vision of Viksit Bharat through active lifestyles.
Notable attendees included film stars Jackie Shroff, Taha Shah Badussha, and Aishwarya Raj Bhakuni, along with Olympic wrestler and Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Narsing Yadav.
During his address, Mandaviya remarked, "Prime Minister Narendra Modi has always emphasized fitness as a fundamental aspect of Viksit Bharat. The Fit India Movement is motivating citizens nationwide to embrace healthier lifestyles and incorporate fitness into their daily lives."
He also underscored the importance of cycling as a sustainable transportation option, stating, "Given the fuel supply challenges stemming from the situation in West Asia, promoting cycling as an eco-friendly and energy-efficient mode of transport is essential. Cycling benefits personal health and supports environmental sustainability and energy conservation."
Mandaviya noted that the Fit India Movement has seen enthusiastic participation from millions of citizens over the last two years, indicating a rising fitness culture across the nation.
Describing cycling as a vital fitness strategy, he highlighted its numerous advantages for physical health, mental wellness, and overall life quality.
He concluded by stating, "Fitness is a crucial element of national development. A healthy citizen fosters a healthy society, which is the bedrock of a prosperous nation. Thus, fitness is a significant pathway to building a developed India."
The FIT INDIA Cyclothon is part of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports' ongoing initiatives to promote active lifestyles and raise awareness about the importance of regular physical activity.
Through such initiatives, the Government aims to enhance the culture of fitness and public engagement envisioned under the Fit India Movement, further propelling the journey towards a Viksit Bharat by 2047.
