New Ticket Tier Introduced for Loyal Fans

Washington [US], December 17: In a move to enhance accessibility for devoted supporters, FIFA has launched a $60 "Supporter Entry Tier" for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup. This initiative comes in response to feedback regarding the steep ticket prices and dynamic pricing strategies.

This new ticket option will be available for all 104 matches throughout the tournament and will be distributed via national federations to fans who have shown commitment to their teams.

On Tuesday, FIFA announced that the $60 Supporter Entry Tier will be accessible for every match at the 2026 World Cup, which will take place across the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Tickets will be allocated to Participating Member Associations, as reported by a sports news outlet.

FIFA's ticket distribution plan guarantees that 50% of tickets from each national federation will be affordable, with 40% allocated to the Supporter Value Tier and 10% to the Supporter Entry Tier. The remaining tickets will be divided equally between the Supporter Standard and Supporter Premier tiers, providing various options for fans.

The introduction of the $60 Supporter Entry Tier follows significant criticism of FIFA's earlier pricing strategies, which faced backlash due to high costs ($120-$265 for group-stage matches), dynamic pricing, and issues related to fees and refunds.

The FIFA World Cup is scheduled to commence on June 11, featuring Mexico against South Africa in the opening match at Estadio Azteca in Mexico City. The tournament will be co-hosted by the USA, Mexico, and Canada.

Earlier this month, the group stage for the 2026 World Cup was finalized during a glamorous Final Draw ceremony held at the John F. Kennedy Centre for the Performing Arts in Washington, DC. This edition of the World Cup will introduce a new format, accommodating 48 teams for the first time, organized into 12 groups of four.

The top two teams from each group, along with the eight best third-place teams, will progress to the round of 32.
