The International Cricket Council (ICC) has revealed significant details about the venues and schedules for two major women's cricket tournaments set to take place in India and England.
ICC chairman Jay Shah expressed enthusiasm, stating, "We are thrilled to announce important details regarding two global women's tournaments that will be organized by the Board of Control for Cricket in India and the England and Wales Cricket Board in the near future."
ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 Details
The ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 is set to feature eight teams competing in a round-robin format, comprising 28 league matches. This tournament will occur from September 30 to November 2 at five venues: M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, ACA Stadium in Guwahati, Holkar Stadium in Indore, ACA-VDCA Stadium in Visakhapatnam, and R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
The tournament will commence with India playing in Bengaluru, marking the return of the Women’s Cricket World Cup to India after a 12-year hiatus.
The knockout venues will hinge on Pakistan's qualification, with two alternative locations identified for one semi-final and the final.
The final is scheduled for either Bengaluru or Colombo on November 2, with the first semi-final taking place in either Guwahati or Colombo on October 29, and the second semi-final in Bengaluru on October 30. Colombo will host the first semi-final and the final only if Pakistan secures a spot.
ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 Kickoff
In addition, Edgbaston in Birmingham has been designated as the venue for the opening match of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026, which will see the England women's team kick off the tournament on June 12.
Spanning 24 days, this competition will feature a total of 33 matches across seven premier venues, including Old Trafford Cricket Ground in Manchester, Headingley in Leeds, The Hampshire Bowl in Southampton, and Bristol County Ground.
A total of 12 teams will compete for the coveted trophy, with eight countries already confirmed for participation. The final four teams will be determined through a Women’s T20 World Cup Qualifier scheduled for next year.
