Kevin Wickham from Barbados made headlines by scoring centuries in both innings against the Jamaica Scorpions. His remarkable performance was matched by outstanding hundreds from openers John Campbell and Kirk McKenzie. Wickham became only the third Barbadian this century to achieve twin centuries in a regional match, joining the ranks of Kraigg Brathwaite and Ryan Hinds.
In his first innings, Wickham scored 153 runs, hitting six fours and 12 sixes, and followed it up with an unbeaten 108. "My mindset was just to play straight. It was about getting in on this wicket and batting for a long period. Once I was there, I knew the runs would come," Wickham stated.
Jamaica Scorpions' captain John Campbell and his partner Kirk McKenzie launched a strong counterattack, forming a 242-run opening partnership. Their efforts led to a convincing seven-wicket victory, successfully chasing down a target of 324. Campbell scored 126, while McKenzie contributed an unbeaten 135, marking his third first-class century.
Guyana Harpy Eagles vs Windward Islands Volcanoes
In Antigua, the defending champions, Guyana Harpy Eagles, bounced back from a first-innings deficit to defeat the Windward Islands Volcanoes at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium. Gudakesh Motie was the standout performer, taking 10 wickets for 119 runs, leading his team to a comfortable four-wicket win.
Sunil Ambris kept the Volcanoes competitive with an unbeaten 107, but they were bowled out for 209 in their second innings, setting a target of 233. Captain Tevin Imlach played a crucial role in the chase with a gritty 82, supported by Matthew Nandu's 58, as Motie sealed the victory.
Trinidad & Tobago Red Force vs Leeward Islands Hurricanes
In another match, Trinidad & Tobago Red Force achieved a remarkable innings and 271-run victory over the Leeward Islands Hurricanes at Coolidge Cricket Ground, Antigua. After dismissing the Hurricanes for just 138, Amir Jangoo shone with a double century, scoring 203 runs without losing his wicket.
Jangoo's innings included 16 fours and five sixes, and he shared an unbroken 253-run partnership with Terrance Hinds, who also scored a century. The Red Force declared at 507 for 5. Facing a daunting first-innings deficit, the Hurricanes struggled, collapsing for 98 runs despite a fighting 56 not out from captain Justin Greaves. Khary Pierre was the standout bowler with figures of 4 for 37.
Captain Joshua Da Silva praised his team's performance, highlighting their strong start with the ball and the outstanding batting displays from Jangoo and Hinds.
