The second half of the IGPL 2026 Season 2 is gearing up to commence in six weeks, following a highly successful initial phase that featured six events, predominantly held in Africa and one in India.
Upcoming Events and Locations
Out of the next nine scheduled events, eight will take place in India, starting with the UAE at the Al Hamra Golf Course in Ras Khaimah. The AM Green IGPL Invitational 2026, presented by Vimtra Chennai Lions GC, is set for September 23-25, 2026, with a significant prize purse.
Following this, the tournament will traverse various Indian cities, including Delhi, Hyderabad, Pune, Vizag, and Ahmedabad. The venues for two events, the AM Green IGPL Invitational 2026 presented by Atri Mumbai Garudas GC (November 24-26, 2026) and the AM Green IGPL Invitational 2026 presented by GolfKonnekt Bengaluru Stallions (December 1-3, 2026), are yet to be confirmed.
Venue Selection and Strategy
Uttam Singh Mundy, CEO of the AM Green IGPL, emphasized the careful selection of venues, which involved consultations with franchises and players. The aim is to promote golf and cultivate a fan base at these locations. Notably, the Vimtra Chennai Lions GC will host their event at the renowned Al Hamra GC, which has previously held European Tour Challenge events.
Strengthened Player Field
The player lineup is set to be bolstered with the inclusion of names like Arjun Prasad and Ravi Kumar, joining established stars such as Gaganjeet Bhullar, Karandeep Kochhar, and Jeev Milkha Singh.
Partnerships and Unique Format
The collaboration between the Asian Tour and IGPL has strengthened, following a successful first half that included events in Morocco and Africa. This unique tour allows both men and women, including amateurs, to compete for prize money from a shared pool, enhancing the competitive spirit.
