Exciting Schedule Unveiled for Assam Premier League's First Season
Assam Premier League Kicks Off
The inaugural Assam Premier League (APL) is set to commence, featuring eight teams competing for the prestigious title over a thrilling 23-day cricket schedule from August 1 to August 23, 2026.
Opening Matches and Format
The tournament will launch on Saturday, August 1, with the Charaideo Sunrisers facing off against the Barpeta Braves at 2:00 PM. The first day will conclude with a double-header, where the Tezpur Titans will take on the Dibrugarh Warriors at 7:00 PM, as per the official announcement.
This season will consist of 43 matches, including 40 league games, two semi-finals, and the championship match. Each team will compete against every other team once during the league phase, along with three additional reverse fixtures, paving the way for exciting rematches and rivalries.
Key Matches to Anticipate
The opening weekend will feature another thrilling double-header on Sunday, August 2, with the Barak Legends clashing with the Nagaon Rangers, followed by the Guwahati Royals starting their journey against the Jorhat Stallions in the evening.
Notable matchups include the Dibrugarh Warriors versus Guwahati Royals, who will meet twice—first on August 10 and again on August 18. Additionally, Charaideo Sunrisers will face Guwahati Royals on August 11 and August 19, setting the stage for a captivating rivalry.
Finals Roadmap
The final day of the league stage on August 20 will be crucial for determining the semi-final contenders, with the Tezpur Titans going up against the Barak Legends at 2:00 PM, followed by the Dibrugarh Warriors facing the Nagaon Rangers at 7:00 PM.
The top four teams will advance to the semi-finals on August 21, where the second and third-placed teams will compete in the first semi-final at 2:00 PM, while the leading team will take on the fourth-placed team in the second semi-final at 7:00 PM.
After a rest day on August 22, the champions of the inaugural Assam Premier League will be crowned on Sunday, August 23, with the grand finale set for 7:00 PM.
