Exciting Kickoff for APP Asia Tour with Penang Open
Penang Open Launches APP Asia Tour
The APP Asia Penang Open, the inaugural event of the APP Asia Tour, has announced its Pro Men's Singles seedings on July 18. Jack Foster is set to lead a talented lineup at this tour-opening competition in Penang, Malaysia, scheduled from July 22 to 26. This tournament is the first of its kind in the newly established APP Asia Tour, which aims to broaden the sport's reach across Asia, complementing the existing PPA Tour Asia.
Quang Duong from Vietnam is positioned as the second seed, while Australia's Matthew Kouznetsov holds the third seed. The competition will also feature notable players such as Brian Tran, Easton Horricks, Mikar Fisher, Hiroki Matsuzaka, and Conor Robertshawe, highlighting the impressive talent pool for this season's opener. With top athletes from various regions, the Pro Men's Singles event promises to showcase thrilling and dynamic pickleball as competitors vie for the first title of the APP Asia Tour.
The Penang Open signifies the start of a six-event APP Asia calendar aimed at creating a robust competitive framework throughout Asia. After the Malaysian event, the tour will proceed to the APP China Open in October, followed by the APP Bangkok Open later that month. The circuit will then continue with the APP Taipei City Open in November, and the APP India Open, also set for November. The inaugural APP Asia Tour will culminate with the Ho Chi Minh City Open in December.
As the initial stop on this new regional tour, the Penang Open holds special importance, providing players with an early chance to establish their momentum for the season while competing for the first championship in a circuit anticipated to significantly enhance the popularity of pickleball across Asia.
