Finalists Confirmed for Oriental Cup 2025

New Delhi, July 28: The finalists for both the boys' and girls' categories were determined on Day 6 of the Oriental Cup 2025. Sanskriti School and Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Faridabad, achieved impressive victories to secure their places in the girls' championship match, as reported in a recent announcement.

Mother's International School (MIS) managed to maintain their composure, earning a crucial point that allowed them to advance to the boys' final against DPS RK Puram. The finals are scheduled for Tuesday at Dr. Ambedkar Stadium, promising an exciting conclusion to this year's tournament.

Zafar Iqbal, the 1980 Moscow Olympic Gold Medalist and former captain of the Indian Hockey Team, will grace the finals as the Chief Guest, inspiring the young athletes with his remarkable legacy.

Govt. Girls Sr. Sec. School, Faridabad, kicked off the day with a dominant 4-0 victory over St. Francis De Sales Sr. Sec. School in the final Group B match for the girls' category. Under the guidance of coach Inderjeet, Ishu opened the scoring, followed by Nidhi, who netted a stunning hat-trick, propelling her team to the final.

In Group A, defending champions Sanskriti School continued their unbeaten streak by defeating Amity International School, Noida, with a score of 3-0. Aditi Chamoli scored twice, while Amina Abdali added another goal to her tournament tally, which now stands at ten, securing Sanskriti's spot in their third consecutive Oriental Cup final.

In the boys' Group A match, Mother's International School and Amity International School, Noida, ended in a goalless draw. MIS goalkeeper Amogh Shandilya was the standout player, making crucial saves that ensured the team secured the point needed to qualify for the final. They will face a strong Delhi Public School, RK Puram, who have already qualified from Group B.

The other boys' Group B match between Navy Children School and New Green Field School also concluded in a 0-0 draw, finalizing the league stage without any changes to the group standings.

The finals are set to take place on July 29, 2025, at Dr. Ambedkar Stadium. In the girls' final, two-time champions Sanskriti School, coached by Keshav Chandra Duklan, will compete against a confident Govt. Girls Sr. Sec. School, Faridabad, led by coach Inderjeet. In the boys' category, MIS, under coach Sachin Rawat, will challenge DPS RK Puram, coached by Gobardhan Sahoo.
