Overview of India's Upcoming Cricket Season


Bhubaneswar: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has unveiled the schedule for Team India’s home season for 2026-27. This season will feature a total of 22 matches across 17 different cities in India. Additionally, the schedule includes four international tours to India from teams such as West Indies, Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe, and Australia. The home season is set to commence in September, kicking off with a T20 match at Barabati Stadium on December 24.



India is set to welcome Sri Lanka for a series comprising three ODIs and three T20s. The second T20 match will occur in Barabati, while the first will be in Rajkot and the third in Pune. The season will officially start with the West Indies tour on September 27, which includes a three-match ODI series followed by a five-match T20 series.


The series against Oman will feature three matches held in Thiruvananthapuram, Guwahati, and New Chandigarh. The T20 matches will be played in Lucknow, Ranchi, Indore, Hyderabad, and Bengaluru. One of the highlights of this home season will be the series against Australia, scheduled for January, which consists of five Test matches.


In December 2026, India will again host Sri Lanka for another three-match ODI series and a three-match T20 series. The ODIs will take place in Delhi, Bengaluru, and Ahmedabad, while the T20s will be held in Rajkot, Cuttack, and Pune.


This upcoming season is packed with matches, offering crucial preparation for India as they gear up for international tournaments.
