Final Showdown at the PPA Finals

This week marks the thrilling conclusion of the 2025-26 Professional Pickleball Association season with the Toys “R” Us PPA Finals taking place in San Clemente, California. The event will showcase the elite players competing for prestigious year-end accolades. Participants include the top eight competitors in both men’s and women’s singles, as well as the leading 16 teams in men’s and women’s doubles. The finals will be hosted at the Life Time facility, renowned as one of the premier venues on the PPA Tour.

The tournament will adopt a pool-play structure, dividing players and teams into two groups within each category. Each participant will engage in three matches during the initial phase, with the top two from each pool progressing to the semifinals. Every match is crucial, as head-to-head records and point differentials will serve as tiebreakers in case of tied standings.

In men’s doubles, the top-seeded duo of Ben Johns and Gabe Tardio leads Pool One, which also includes JW Johnson and CJ Klinger, Dylan Frazier and Eric Oncins, as well as Connor Garnett and Riley Newman. The matchup between Johnson/Klinger and Frazier/Oncins is anticipated to be pivotal for semifinal advancement.

Pool Two consists of Hayden Patriquin and Christian Alshon, Federico Staksrud and Andrei Daescu, Noe Khlif and Tyson McGuffin, along with Jaume Martinez Vich and Jay Devilliers. In the women’s doubles, Anna Leigh Waters and Anna Bright are the frontrunners in Pool One, while Tyra Black and Jorja Johnson lead Pool Two, accompanied by Parris Todd and Rachel Rohrabacher.

Mixed doubles is set to deliver fierce competition as well, with Waters and Ben Johns heading Pool One, while Anna Bright and Hayden Patriquin are notable contenders in Pool Two. The men’s singles lineup features Chris Haworth, Christian Alshon, Jack Sock, and Federico Staksrud, while the women’s singles category has opened up following Anna Leigh Waters' withdrawal.

Pool play kicks off on Wednesday, and the matches on the opening day, particularly those between the second and third seeds, are expected to significantly influence the semifinal race.
