Excitement Builds for Season 2 of Indian Supercross Racing League with Record Registrations

Record Registrations for ISRL Season 2
Pune (Maharashtra) [India], May 14: The Indian Supercross Racing League (ISRL), recognized as the first-ever franchise-based Supercross championship globally, has experienced an extraordinary surge in rider registrations for its second season, which commenced late last month. In just three weeks, the league has achieved an impressive total of 89 registrations, with all prominent athletes from the inaugural season confirming their participation for the upcoming season, according to a statement from ISRL.
This remarkable early response significantly surpasses last season's registration pace, where the league garnered 85 registrations over a span of three months. ISRL is poised for a twofold growth compared to Season 1. The rapid re-registration of established riders, including both international stars and Indian talent, reflects the heightened enthusiasm and increasing demand for the league among athletes worldwide.
The global interest in ISRL continues to expand, with registrations flooding in from regions including the Americas, Europe, Asia, and Australia. Notable athletes returning for Season 2 include Matt Moss, Jordi Tixier, Reid Taylor, Thanarat Penjan, Ben Hallgren, and Thomas Ramette. They will be joined by three prominent international figures: Alexander Fedortsov (USA), the 2025 'AMA SMX Next' National Champion; Adrien Escoffier (France), a leading contender in the FIM World Supercross Championship; and Luke Clout (Australia), who ranked P6 in the 2024 World Supercross Championship. India's top performers, Rugved Barguje, Ikshan Shanbhag, and Sarthak Chavan, who made a mark in the previous season, will also return. This combination of elite international athletes and exceptional local talent sets the stage for an exhilarating second season.
Eeshan Lokhande, Co-Founder of the Indian Supercross Racing League, expressed, “The tremendous response we’ve received in just the first three weeks of Season 2 registrations underscores ISRL’s growing prominence in the global motorsport landscape. The swift return of all our top athletes from Season 1, along with a surge of new entries, is a powerful testament to the success and influence of our inaugural season. It validates our team's commitment to elevating Season 2 to new heights, ensuring a world-class experience for both riders and fans. We are dedicated to pushing boundaries and further establishing ISRL as a premier global Supercross destination.”
Matt Moss shared his excitement, stating, “The first season was fantastic. I was genuinely pleased with how everything unfolded. Traveling here was a cultural shock initially, but in the best way. The hospitality was exceptional, and the racing was top-notch. I’m eager for Season 2 and curious about the new additions and changes. The increased interest, with riders from the USA, France, and more from Australia, is thrilling. I anticipate a heightened level of competition, especially with riders like Jordi keeping us on our toes. I can’t wait for Season 2 to begin.”
Rugved Barguje reflected on his experience, saying, “Competing on a proper Supercross track in India felt surreal. I was excited to race in the Asia Mix category, but I had a thumb injury. Nevertheless, the adrenaline kept me going. Now, as Season 2 approaches, I’m fully recovered and ready to ride. My goal this time is clear: to secure a podium finish.”
Jordi Tixier remarked, “Season 1 of ISRL exceeded my expectations; it was an incredible experience. I loved the people, the track, and the fans' energy. The dedication of the founders and the ISRL team to the sport was evident. Their efforts were reflected in every race, constantly evolving and improving based on rider feedback. The growth from the first race in Pune to the final round in Bangalore was remarkable. They are not just organizing an event; they are building something special for the future of Supercross.”
Brendan Sipple added, “I feel fortunate to have participated in Season 1. The tracks were fantastic, the racing was intense, and the fans brought unmatched energy—it was an unforgettable journey. The teams and overall organization were exceptional. The behind-the-scenes efforts ensured we, as riders, had everything we needed. They made sure the tracks were perfect and that the entire event showcased the best of Supercross motorsport history. I’m excited to return for Season 2, eager to race in new cities and represent teams passionate about growing Supercross in India. It’s thrilling to see the sport gaining traction here, and I can’t wait to be part of it again.”
The ISRL is gearing up for a bigger and bolder return, with Bollywood star Salman Khan joining as the official brand ambassador, enhancing its visibility and appeal among mainstream audiences. Season 2 is scheduled to run from October to December 2025, featuring multiple rounds across various Indian cities and three racing categories: 450cc international, 250cc international, and 250cc India-Asia mix. Rider registration is currently open, with a mega auction on the horizon.
