Public Live Screening of the FIFA World Cup Final
Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], July 18: The Karnataka State Football Association (KSFA), in collaboration with the Department of Youth Empowerment and Sports (DYES) from the Government of Karnataka, is set to host a public live screening of the 2026 FIFA World Cup Final.
Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar is expected to attend the event, joining football enthusiasts, athletes, dignitaries, and members of the community to watch the live broadcast of the final match.
The live screening will take place at the NGV Indoor Stadium in Koramangala, Bengaluru, starting at 12:30 a.m. on Monday, July 20, featuring the much-anticipated clash between Argentina and Spain.
Argentina, the defending champions, made a stunning comeback to defeat England 2-1 in the semifinals, with Enzo Fernandez equalizing and Lautaro Martinez scoring the decisive goal in stoppage time, propelling Argentina into the final.
This victory marked the end of England's hopes for their first World Cup final appearance since 1966.
Spain, meanwhile, reached the FIFA World Cup final for the first time since their 2010 victory, having triumphed over France 2-0 in a solid performance. Lamine Yamal was instrumental in this win, winning a penalty that Mikel Oyarzabal converted in the 22nd minute, giving Spain an early lead.
As Spain aims for their second World Cup title, 16 years after their last, Argentina seeks to become the first team since Brazil in 1962 to defend their championship successfully.
