Thrilling Competition at Picklebay Zonals - North
The Picklebay Zonals - North is gaining traction as athletes vie for essential qualification points for the World Cup. Shreya Chakraborty is eagerly anticipating her upcoming matches and has expressed her admiration for the vibrant atmosphere of the tournament. This event, sanctioned by the PWR 700 Indian Pickleball Association, is hosted at Horizon X Courtplay and boasts a prize pool of Rs 15 lakh, serving as the senior selection trials for the forthcoming Pickleball World Cup in Da Nang, Vietnam.
Although Chakraborty's own matches have yet to commence, she noted the lively energy surrounding the venue. "I think it's fantastic. I haven't started my events yet, but the 30+ Mixed Doubles and Intermediate matches are already in progress. The atmosphere has been really positive," she remarked.
Chakraborty, an experienced competitor, shared her enthusiasm for participating in Picklebay tournaments. "I always enjoy playing at Picklebay. The vibes and the people here are wonderful, so I'm really looking forward to it," she added.
In the coming days, she will have a packed schedule, competing in three professional categories: Pro Women's Singles, Women's Doubles, and Mixed Doubles. "I'm excited for all three events," she stated.
The tournament promises to deliver high-quality matches as players aim for spots on India's team for the Pickleball World Cup. Chakraborty also shared a memorable off-court experience, saying, "Probably the coffee. I was just in Vietnam, and they had the same coffee there. I practically survived on it during the trip, so it's great to have it here as well."
Bringing together many of India's top professionals across 28 categories, the Picklebay Zonals - North adds significant weight to each match as players strive to impress selectors ahead of the World Cup later this year.
