England Prepares for Jasprit Bumrah's Return in Third Test at Lord's

England's Challenge Ahead of Third Test
In the second Test, England found themselves trailing for five days, and now, head coach Brendon McCullum emphasizes the need for thorough preparation as they gear up to face Jasprit Bumrah's return in the upcoming match at Lord's.
Bumrah, who was sidelined during the second Test, witnessed his teammates achieve a remarkable victory over England, leveling the five-match series 1-1 with a staggering 336-run win at Edgbaston.
India's captain, Shubman Gill, confirmed Bumrah's comeback for the next Test, indicating that he will participate in three out of the five matches in this series.
McCullum stated, "Bumrah will likely return for the next match, so we must ensure we are well-prepared for this challenge." He also noted that the conditions at Lord's will differ significantly from those at Edgbaston, which could work in their favor.
Reflecting on the previous match, McCullum acknowledged India's exceptional performance, particularly praising Shubman Gill's elite batting on the challenging pitch. He admitted that England struggled to execute their game plan effectively.
The former New Zealand captain recognized that choosing to bowl first after winning the toss was a miscalculation, as the pitch did not behave as anticipated.
He remarked, "Looking back, we might have missed an opportunity with that toss decision. We didn't foresee the wicket playing as it did, which led to our misjudgment."
Despite having India at 200 for five, England failed to capitalize on that advantage, allowing the opposition to post a massive total of 580, putting them at a disadvantage.
McCullum also commended India’s Akash Deep, who achieved his first five-wicket haul with impressive figures of 6/99, playing a crucial role in India's victory. He noted, "Akash Deep bowled exceptionally well on that surface, demonstrating his skill in utilizing the conditions effectively."
