Delay in Toss Due to West Indies' Late Arrival

Despite the timely arrival of the England team, the West Indies faced delays, resulting in a 20-minute postponement of the toss. They were unable to conduct a pre-match net session. The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) released a statement addressing the situation:

"Due to a delayed arrival of one of the playing teams, who are stuck in heavy traffic north of the river, the scheduled start of play will be delayed. Once all members of the playing teams arrive, the match officials will coordinate updated timings and discuss any impact on the schedule of play. We will update spectators with the schedule of play as soon as we are able to."

Match Delays Continue Due to Weather and Pitch Issues

While the English players engaged in a game of football to pass the time, the West Indies Cricket Board confirmed that traffic was indeed the cause of their delay. However, the match faced further interruptions due to pitch problems and rain. At the time of the halt, the West Indies were at 83 runs for 3 wickets in 15 overs, with Keacy Carty scoring 24 runs off 27 balls and Sherfane Rutherford contributing an aggressive 33 runs off 30 balls. England has yet to bat, and the ground remains covered as rain continues to disrupt play, leaving fans and players anxiously waiting.
