England Announces 15-Member ODI Squad for Upcoming Series Against India
England's ODI Squad for India Series
The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has unveiled a 15-member squad for the upcoming three-match ODI series against India at home. Notably, veteran left-arm spinner Sophie Ecclestone makes her return after missing the recent series against the West Indies due to injury.
Another significant inclusion is Maia Bouchier, who has been recalled following her impressive batting performance. Bouchier showcased her skills by scoring an unbeaten century in a warm-up match against India on June 24. The 26-year-old has participated in 17 ODIs, accumulating 482 runs at an impressive average of 37.07 and a strike rate of 106.87, including one century and two half-centuries.
In a positive development for English supporters, captain Nat Sciver-Brunt is expected to be fit for the series. She had missed the latter part of the Vitality T20I series due to a groin strain, but the ECB confirmed she would be ready to play in the ODIs.
According to the ECB's official press release, "Captain Nat Sciver-Brunt will play a full role in the series as she recovers from the end of the Vitality IT20 series with a groin injury."
Fast bowler Lauren Filer is another player to watch closely. She has been included in the squad as she continues her recovery from a knee injury. The Durham pacer last played an ODI during the Ashes earlier this year and recently made headlines with a remarkable spell at the Kia Oval, where she bowled at an average pace of 76 mph over four impactful overs.
With a blend of seasoned players and emerging talent, England aims to deliver a strong performance in the ODIs against a formidable Indian team.
