According to an announcement on their official website, Hampshire County Cricket Club stated, “Ellyse Perry Signs For Hampshire. The Australian, recognized as one of the greatest female cricketers ever, will represent Hampshire this July, marking a pivotal moment in women's domestic cricket in the country.”
Perry will be available for six matches in the T20 Blast and two in the One Day Cup. If Hampshire advances to the T20 Blast Finals Day, she will also be eligible to play.

At 34, she has claimed the T20 World Cup title six times, is a two-time ODI World Cup champion, a Commonwealth Games gold medalist, and has won the Women’s Big Bash twice. Additionally, she has secured 11 Women’s National Cricket League titles and is a five-time Women’s Ashes champion, holding records for both runs and wickets.
“I am really looking forward to joining the Hampshire team this summer. The Club has been a leader within the women’s game for the last ten years, and I’m excited to have the opportunity to join the team at such an exciting time for domestic cricket in England. There’s always a great atmosphere at Utilita Bowl, and I cannot wait to walk out as part of the home team for the first time on Sunday, July 6,” Perry expressed.
Paul Prichard, the Head Coach of Hampshire Women, commented, “Ellyse is one of the world’s best cricketers, and we are eager to welcome her to the team this summer. Her record across all formats speaks for itself, and she will bring immense value both on and off the pitch. Our young players will gain invaluable experience from Ellyse, and I know our fans will be thrilled to see her in a Hawks shirt.”
Perry is expected to make her debut for Hampshire at Chesterfield on Friday, July 4, against The Blaze, followed by her first match at Utilita Bowl for the Hawks against Somerset on Sunday, July 6. Fans will have six additional chances to see Ellyse Perry in Hampshire colors throughout the month, including four home games and two away matches.
