East Bengal FC celebrated a remarkable victory in the Indian Women’s League 2025-26, triumphing 2-0 against Nita Football Academy in Kolkata on Tuesday. With two matches left in the season, the Red and Gold Brigade confirmed their title in front of enthusiastic home fans, showcasing their dominance throughout the league. After Matchday 12, East Bengal leads the standings with 33 points, followed by Sethu FC with 23 points and Kickstart FC Karnataka in third with 19 points.

The team controlled the game from the start, setting the pace effectively. Their first goal came in the 25th minute when Soumya executed a delicate finish after receiving a long pass from Ashalata Devi.
Holding a 1-0 lead at halftime, East Bengal continued to press in the second half. Their efforts were rewarded again in the 65th minute when Fazila Ikwaput delivered a brilliant pass to Soumya, who rounded the goalkeeper and scored her second goal. Nita FA struggled to maintain offensive pressure, leading to frustration, as evidenced by Nishima Kumari receiving a yellow card in the 72nd minute.
