Support for Armed Forces Amidst Escalating Conflict

Bhubaneswar (Odisha) [India], May 10: Dilip Tirkey, the president of Hockey India and a former captain, expressed his admiration for the Indian Armed Forces regarding their execution of Operation Sindoor, which was initiated in response to the recent terror attack in Pahalgam. He emphasized the importance of continuing this operation, stating that the nation stands firmly behind its security personnel.

In an interview, Tirkey remarked, “Our forces are effectively conducting Operation Sindoor... They have successfully dismantled terror camps. Additionally, our forces have thwarted drone attacks from Pakistan. It is crucial that Operation Sindoor persists, and we fully support our security forces.”

In related developments, Indian strikes reportedly targeted at least four airbases in Pakistan during the early hours of Saturday, as tensions between the two nations escalate further.

These retaliatory strikes were launched by India following an attack by Pakistan on 26 locations across the country. Ongoing intermittent firing is being reported along the Line of Control (LoC).

The Ministry of Defence issued a statement noting, “Drones have been observed at 26 sites along the International Border and LoC with Pakistan, including suspected armed drones. These locations encompass Baramulla, Srinagar, Avantipora, Nagrota, Jammu, Ferozpur, Pathankot, Fazilka, Lalgarh Jatta, Jaisalmer, Barmer, Bhuj, Kuarbet, and Lakhi Nala. Unfortunately, an armed drone targeted a civilian area in Ferozpur, injuring members of a local family. Medical assistance has been provided to the injured, and security forces have sanitized the area. The Indian Armed Forces are on high alert, actively monitoring and addressing all aerial threats with counter-drone systems. The situation is being closely monitored, and prompt actions are being taken as needed. Citizens, particularly those in border regions, are urged to stay indoors, minimize unnecessary movement, and adhere to safety guidelines from local authorities. While there is no cause for panic, increased vigilance and caution are advised.”
