Dewald Brevis made a stunning debut in the Vitality Blast for Hampshire, scoring an impressive 68 runs off just 32 deliveries. His performance featured a remarkable 'no-look six' that quickly gained traction on social media.
Having recently played for Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2025, where he made several notable contributions, Brevis wasted no time in showcasing his talent for Hampshire. Batting at the No. 3 position, the 21-year-old South African exhibited his signature style in the T20 Blast, combining powerful hitting with a fearless mindset.

Brevis' innings included four fours and six sixes, achieving a strike rate of 212.50, which propelled Hampshire to a formidable total of 230/7 in their 20 overs against Essex. His explosive batting followed solid performances from Toby Albert (54 off 34) and James Vince (62 off 31).
He reached his half-century in just 21 balls, notably scoring 24 runs in one over from Paul Walter, with the 12th over featuring a sequence of 4, 6, 4, 4, 0, 6. Brevis was eventually dismissed in the 17th over, caught off Sam Cook.
Hampshire Dominates the Match
Brevis' aggressive batting style proved overwhelming for Essex, who crumbled to 124 all out in their response. The leg-spinning all-rounder also made his mark in the field, taking a sharp catch to dismiss Paul Walter, rounding off a stellar debut.
Michael Pepper managed to score 51 runs off 38 balls for Essex, but the rest of the batting lineup struggled, with no other player surpassing 25 runs.
