New Delhi: In a thrilling IPL encounter on Saturday, Delhi Capitals' captain Axar Patel won the toss and chose to bowl first against the Mumbai Indians.
The Mumbai Indians, who have clinched the title five times, faced a setback as their regular captain Hardik Pandya was unable to participate due to illness. Consequently, Suryakumar Yadav took over the captaincy duties.
In an official statement, the Mumbai franchise confirmed Hardik's absence, stating, 'Hardik Pandya is unwell and will not be playing today. Suryakumar Yadav will lead the team in his place.'
With Hardik sidelined, the team made several adjustments, bringing in Deepak Chahar to replace the star all-rounder.
Additionally, Mumbai Indians introduced Corbin Bosch and Mitchell Santner into the squad, substituting Trent Boult and Allah Ghazanfar.
On the other hand, Delhi Capitals opted to maintain their original lineup without any changes.
