Delhi Capitals Struggle in IPL 2025 Match Against Sunrisers Hyderabad

Delhi Capitals' Disappointing Performance
In a challenging IPL 2025 match against Sunrisers Hyderabad, all-rounder Vipraj Nigam of Delhi Capitals concluded his innings in a rather unfortunate manner. The game took place at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.
The batting display from Delhi Capitals has been underwhelming this season. After being invited to bat first, the team faltered against the pace attack of SRH, quickly finding themselves at a dismal 29 for five.
Under immense pressure, Nigam joined Tristan Stubbs at the crease in an attempt to stabilize the innings. The duo aimed to rebuild and alleviate the mounting pressure. However, a chaotic run-out involving Nigam further exacerbated DC's struggles.
During the 13th over, bowled by Zeeshan Ansari, a delivery struck Stubbs' pad, prompting him to call for two runs. Nigam hesitated, leading to confusion as both players ended up at the same end.
Nigam managed to score only a single run before stopping at the striker's end, while Stubbs dashed past him. An accurate throw to the bowler's end confirmed Nigam's dismissal after a review by the third umpire. Despite the unusual circumstances, Nigam was nowhere near the frame. Kavya Maran's amused reaction from the stands provided a moment of comic relief.

Nigam's innings ended with him scoring just 18 runs off 17 balls, including one boundary and one six, with a strike rate slightly above 100. Following his dismissal, DC found themselves in a precarious position at 62 for six.
Nevertheless, the partnership between Tristan Stubbs and Ashutosh Sharma proved pivotal as they combined for a 66-run stand, bringing their team back into contention.

Stubbs finished unbeaten with 41 runs from 36 balls, hitting four boundaries, while Ashutosh contributed significantly with 41 runs off 26 balls, including two fours and three sixes.
Thanks to their resilient partnership, Delhi Capitals managed to set a total of 133 for seven. On the bowling side, Pat Cummins was the standout performer for Sunrisers Hyderabad, claiming three crucial wickets.
