Mustafizur Rahman's IPL 2025 Signing in Jeopardy

The Delhi Capitals (DC) have signed Bangladesh pacer Mustafizur Rahman for the remainder of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. However, this acquisition has encountered a significant obstacle as the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) claims they have not been approached for a Non-Objection Certificate (NOC).

In the IPL, player signings require official clearance from the respective cricket boards. According to reports, BCB CEO Nizamuddin Chowdhury mentioned that no formal request has been made regarding Mustafizur Rahman's involvement. Additionally, Rahman is set to represent his national team, which coincides with the final stages of IPL 2025.

Chowdhury informed ESPNcricinfo on Wednesday, "Mustafizur is expected to travel with the team to the UAE as per the schedule. We have not received any communication from IPL officials, nor have I heard from Mustafizur regarding this matter."

This news follows the withdrawal of Jake Fraser-McGurk, for whom Mustafizur was announced as a replacement in the Delhi Capitals lineup. Bangladesh's T20I matches against the UAE are scheduled for May 17 and May 19, followed by a T20I series against Pakistan on May 25, 27, and 30, with two additional games on June 1 and June 3.

For the Delhi Capitals, three matches remain on May 18, May 21, and May 24, with the possibility of playoffs if the team qualifies.
