Deepti Sharma's Rise in T20I Rankings
Indian all-rounder Deepti Sharma has made significant strides, now positioned sixth in the ICC Women's T20I bowler rankings, thanks to her impressive performances in the ongoing Women's Asia Cup.
During the Asia Cup, Deepti has showcased her skills, taking eight wickets in three matches, which played a crucial role in India's advancement to the semi-finals. This performance propelled her two spots higher in the rankings, while her teammate Sree Charani continues to hold the top position as the leading bowler, according to ICC updates. Deepti previously achieved the top ranking in December of last year and is currently just 60 rating points behind Charani, with only Sophie Ecclestone, Charlie Dean, Nonkululeko Mlaba, and Lauren Bell ranked between them.
Other T20I Players Making Gains
Several players have also improved their standings in the latest T20I bowler rankings. Marufa Akter has jumped 19 places to 18th, while Chamari Athapaththu has moved up five spots to tie for 28th. Sultana Khatun has also made a notable leap, rising nine positions to equal 37th.
Additionally, Thailand's Thipatcha Putthawong has climbed four spots to 47th, and Suleeporn Laomi has advanced ten places to 53rd. From Bangladesh, Sobhana Mostary has moved up three spots to 36th, and Dilara Akter has gained five positions to 62nd among T20I batters.
ODI Rankings Shift After England-Ireland Series
The recent ODI rankings have seen considerable changes following the conclusion of England's home series against Ireland. Stand-in England captain Charlie Dean made a notable advancement, moving up one position to tie for ninth among ODI all-rounders.
Dean also improved her standing among ODI bowlers, climbing two spots to joint 11th after taking three wickets in the series. Teammate Lauren Filer has made a significant leap, rising 14 places to 39th, while Ireland's Cara Murray has moved up 16 spots to 50th. Among ODI batters, Ireland's Amy Hunter has seen the most significant gain, climbing nine slots to 11th, with England's Maia Bouchier and Sophia Dunkley also making notable progress, moving up 13 and 26 spots to 42nd and 43rd, respectively.
