David Warner Signs with Seattle Orcas for Major League Cricket 2025
Warner's New Adventure in Major League Cricket
Former Australian cricketer David Warner has officially joined the Seattle Orcas for the upcoming third season of Major League Cricket (MLC), set to commence on June 12. This will mark Warner's first participation in the USA-based T20 league, as reported by a leading sports news outlet.
Currently, Warner is competing in the Pakistan Super League 2025, where he is captaining the Karachi Kings. Throughout his career, the left-handed batsman has played 401 T20 matches, accumulating an impressive 12,956 runs with a strike rate of 140.27.
The Seattle Orcas had a promising start in the inaugural MLC season in 2023, topping the points table but ultimately losing in the final to MI New York. However, their performance took a downturn in the second season, finishing last under the leadership of Heinrich Klaasen, with only one victory in seven games.
The 2025 MLC season will take place from June 12 to July 13. Unlike the previous year, this tournament will not coincide with The Hundred, allowing Warner to also play for London Spirit without any scheduling issues.
Warner went unsold during the IPL 2025 mega auction, marking the first time he will miss the tournament since 2009. He currently ranks as the fourth-highest run-scorer in IPL history, with 6,565 runs from 184 innings.
In the recent Big Bash League, Warner made a significant impact as captain of the Sydney Thunder, leading them to the finals and finishing as the second-highest run-scorer with 405 runs in 12 innings.
Earlier this year, Warner was part of the Dubai Capitals team that secured the International League T20 (ILT20) championship.
