Path to the Quarter-Finals

England enters this match following a thrilling 3-2 win over co-hosts Mexico in the Round of 16, despite being reduced to 10 players for much of the second half. Jude Bellingham netted two goals, and Harry Kane scored the crucial penalty, allowing Thomas Tuchel's squad to advance to the World Cup quarter-finals for the 11th time.

On the other hand, Norway made headlines by defeating five-time champions Brazil 2-1, marking their first-ever advancement to the last eight. Erling Haaland was the star of the match, scoring both goals and bringing his total to seven in the tournament, tying him for the most goals by a player in their debut World Cup since Poland's Grzegorz Lato in 1974.

With this achievement, England has now reached the quarter-finals of the FIFA World Cup 11 times, trailing only Brazil (15) and Germany (14) in terms of appearances at this stage.
