Cristiano Ronaldo Explains His Commitment to Al Nassr Amid World Cup Offers

Ronaldo's Decision to Stay with Al Nassr
New Delhi [India] - Cristiano Ronaldo, the renowned forward from Portugal, has shared insights into his choice to prolong his contract with Al Nassr in the Saudi Pro League, despite receiving offers from clubs participating in the ongoing Club World Cup.
After his previous contract expired in Riyadh, the five-time Ballon d'Or winner opted to remain with Al Nassr until 2027. Prior to this decision, there was considerable speculation regarding a potential exit from the club.
The 40-year-old explained that he turned down various offers because he values rest and preparation, especially with a lengthy season ahead. He stated, “I had some offers to play in the World Cup, but I think it didn’t make sense because I prefer to have a good rest and preparation, given that this season will be very long with the World Cup at the end of the year,” as reported by Al-Nassr’s official media team.
Ronaldo emphasized his desire to be in peak condition not just for Al Nassr but also for the national team. He mentioned, “This is why I decided to play the last game for the Nations League and not listen to anything. And of course, to be in this club, which I love.”
Ronaldo's commitment to the club extends beyond his 42nd birthday. Despite being 40, he continues to perform at an elite level, having recently led Portugal to victory in the UEFA Nations League final against Spain.
With an impressive tally of 932 career goals, he is on the verge of reaching the milestone of 1,000 goals. At the club level, he has netted 794 goals, while contributing 138 goals for the Portuguese national team.
Although Ronaldo has secured the Arab Club Champions Cup with Al Nassr, he is still in pursuit of the SPL title, having finished as runners-up in the 2022-23 and 2023-24 seasons, and third in the 2024-25 season.
