Zinc Football Academy Advances to AIFF Under-18 Elite League Finals

Zinc Football Academy's Remarkable Journey

Udaipur (Rajasthan) [India], March 18: The Zinc Football Academy (ZFA) has successfully secured a place in the final round of the AIFF Under-18 Elite League 2025-26, showcasing an outstanding performance during the Zonal Round, with local talents from Zawar playing a pivotal role in their achievements.

As per a statement released by the academy, ZFA has had a stellar campaign in the zonal round, achieving 11 victories out of 14 matches, alongside two draws and just one loss, which has ensured their progression to the Final Round. Notably, their home performance has been exceptional, remaining unbeaten in all seven home games, netting 37 goals while conceding none.

The zonal round, which kicked off in November 2025, follows a home-and-away format where teams compete against each other twice.

One of the standout players is Himesh Meena from Zawar, who has been with the Academy for two years. After facing a significant injury during last season's Final Round of the national youth league that sidelined him for nearly four months, Himesh has made a remarkable return this season.

Primarily playing as a forward but also contributing in midfield, he has become a key player, scoring vital goals and facilitating play for his teammates.

Additionally, two other talented players from Zawar, Ritik Meena and Sahil Meena, have made their first-team debuts in the AIFF Under-18 Elite League Zonal Round this season. Ritik, a forward, and Sahil, a defender, both began their football journey through the Zinc Football Community Schools program and have advanced through the development pathway established by Zinc Football.

Coming from modest backgrounds, the success of these three young athletes has instilled pride in their families and the broader football community in Zawar.

Their achievements highlight the growing influence of Hindustan Zinc's Zinc Football program, which continues to foster local talent and provide opportunities for young players in the beloved sport. There are also more talents from Zawar in the Academy's senior team and Under-15 girls team.
