Yuvraj Singh, the celebrated Indian cricketer, has publicly apologized to Kapil Dev and MS Dhoni, the only two captains to lead India to ODI World Cup victories. This comes in response to his father, Yograj Singh's, long-standing criticisms of Dhoni regarding Yuvraj's exclusion from the national team. Yograj's comments have been repetitive and critical, often targeting Dhoni without any substantial basis. While Yuvraj has typically refrained from engaging in such disputes, he felt compelled to address the situation, stating, 'I would like to apologize to Kapil Dev and MS Dhoni,' in a teaser for an upcoming podcast episode with Sports Tak.

In this podcast, Yuvraj plans to discuss various cricketing topics, including insights on players like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Rishabh Pant. When asked about his father's outspoken behavior, Yuvraj remarked, 'I have told dad that it’s not ok,' indicating his disapproval of Yograj's comments. Yograj's animosity towards Dhoni has been evident for years, but he recently expressed admiration for the former captain, wishing for his continued presence in cricket.

Yograj's grievances extend to Kapil Dev as well, stemming from a personal vendetta dating back to the early 1980s when he felt wronged by the selection committee. He even claimed to have confronted Kapil with a firearm, although Kapil responded with humor, asking, 'Who is Yograj Singh?' Despite the ongoing drama, Sandeep Patil, a former BCCI chairman, clarified that Yuvraj's removal from the team was not influenced by Dhoni but was a decision made by selectors based on performance. Yuvraj's last appearance for India was in 2017, after which he announced his retirement in 2019. Currently, he is mentoring young talents like Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill.
