The retention phase for the upcoming 2027 season of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) wrapped up on Monday, with a total of 63 players, including 23 international talents, being retained by the five franchises ahead of the player auction scheduled for October 28 in Kochi.

Among the franchises—Delhi Capitals (DC), Gujarat Giants (GG), Mumbai Indians (MI), Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), and UP Warriorz (UPW)—63 players have been confirmed, leaving 27 slots open for new signings, which includes 7 positions for overseas players.

The WPL 2027 Player Auction is set to occur in Kochi on October 28, 2026, with UP Warriorz entering the auction with the highest budget of INR 3.65 crore.
