Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], August 14: The World Padel League witnessed thrilling action on Match Day 3, as teams aimed to enhance their standings after two days of intense competition. The Aussie Mavericks Jaguars showcased their prowess with a commanding performance against the Khan Tigers, clinching their second tournament win with a decisive score of 19-9.
Following this, the Game Changers Lions achieved a hard-fought victory over the VB Realty Cheetahs, finishing with a score of 17-11. The Lions took charge early in the first two sets, although the Cheetahs made a spirited comeback in the final set, as reported by the WPL.
In the opening match of the day, Claudia Jensen and Alejandra Alonso from the Jaguars faced off against Martina Fassio and Raquel Eugenio of the Tigers. After a competitive start, the Jaguars surged ahead to win the first set 6-2. The second set featured Ignacio Piotto and Enzo Jensen against Javi Garcia and Inigo Jofre, with the Jaguars maintaining their lead to secure another 6-2 set victory, bringing the overall score to 12-4.
The Tigers rallied in the final set, where Aris Patiniotis and Lucas Campagnolo battled against Pol Hernandez and Guille Collado. Despite a close contest, the Jaguars held their composure to win the decider 7-5, finalizing their victory at 19-9.
In Match 6, the Lions, led by Paula Josemaria and Beatriz Gonzalez, started strong against Aranzazu Osoro and Julieta Bidahorria, winning the first set 6-1. The second set saw Gonzalo Alfonso and Sanyo Gutierrez face Jesus Moya and Jon Sanz, with the Lions extending their lead to 12-4 after a 6-3 win.
