West Indies Triumph in Second ODI Against Pakistan

In a thrilling encounter, Roston Chase and Justin Greaves propelled the West Indies to a five-wicket win against Pakistan, achieving the target with 10 balls remaining in a rain-affected second one-day international, thus equalizing the three-match series at 1-1.

Chase remained unbeaten at 49 runs off 47 balls, featuring two sixes and the decisive boundary, as the West Indies reached 184-5 in just 33.2 overs on Sunday.

Due to rain interruptions, the hosts were set a revised target of 181 runs in 35 overs, following Pakistan's innings which concluded at 171-7 in 37 overs. Jayden Seales was impressive with the ball, claiming 3 wickets for 23 runs in seven overs.

After a promising start at 101-3 after 18 overs at the Brian Lara Stadium in Tarouba, Trinidad and Tobago, the West Indies faced a mini-collapse, slipping to 111-5 by the 24th over. This included the dismissal of Sherfane Rutherford, who scored 45 runs off 33 balls, hitting three sixes and four fours.

The partnership between Chase and Greaves, who contributed 26 runs off 31 balls, proved crucial as they added an unbroken 77 runs for the sixth wicket.

Earlier, the West Indies opted to bowl first, with Hasan Nawaz once again shining for Pakistan, scoring 36 not out off 30 balls, following his unbeaten 63 in the series opener.

Nawaz's innings featured three sixes, including two in the final over of Pakistan's innings, which was curtailed by rain. Hussain Talat added 31 runs off 32 balls, but many of the Pakistani batsmen struggled, including captain Mohammad Rizwan, who was dismissed lbw by Gudakesh Motie for just 16 runs off 38 balls.

Pakistan had previously defeated the West Indies in the first ODI on Friday, also by five wickets.

The final match of the ODI series is set to take place on Tuesday at the same venue.

Pakistan had earlier secured a 2-1 victory in the preceding Twenty20 series held in Florida.
